A Tree That Reminds Us of You
Every fall, something beautiful happens behind the Northwoods Community Credit Union office in Park Falls. A tree in the backyard puts on a spectacular show, its leaves turning a brilliant, vibrant red.
For many of us at NCCU, that tree is more than just a beautiful part of the landscape. It has become a special reminder of someone who loved it dearly — our friend and coworker, Sandy Kennedy.
Sandy worked at Northwoods Community Credit Union for more than 25 years. Throughout those years, she became an important part of the NCCU family, building relationships with coworkers and members, and leaving an impact that continues to be felt today.
Every fall, when the tree reached its brightest red, Sandy would take a picture of it. It was one of those simple things that brought her joy, and over the years, the tree became a little piece of beauty that she looked forward to seeing each autumn.
Sandy passed away in 2024, but her memory remains very much alive among her coworkers at Northwoods Community Credit Union. And each fall, when that tree turns brilliant red again, it feels like a familiar reminder of Sandy — of her time with us, her personality, and the mark she left on our NCCU family.
Sometimes, the simplest things carry the most meaning.
A tree. A season. A photograph.
And a beautiful reminder of someone who will always be a part of our Northwoods Community Credit Union family.
We think of you every fall, Sandy. ❤️
