At NCCU we believe in supporting non profit organizations in the communities we serve. One of the ways we do this is with our Annual Charity Golf Classic. For the past 15 years NCCU, along with generous sponsors in our community, have been helping non-profit groups raise funds to continue and improve operations. Over the past 15 years we have raised over $45,000 for these types of groups. This year the beneficiary was Price Ice Recreation Arena. Pictured here are some of the board members that represent the Arena – Michele Smith, Tim Kief, Joan Korpi, and James Niece. They are accepting a check for the Golf Classic proceeds from Kathy Trimner (NCCU) and a couple of the event sponsors – Jamey Boraas-Stueber (Park Falls Ace Hardware) and Gary Griesel (Wheel Way Chevrolet/Buick). With the help of our sponsors, NCCU presented a check for $5,581.16 to Price Ice Recreation Arena.
This year’s event was held on July 15th, at the Park Falls Golf Course, with 72 golfers participating. Price Ice Recreation Arena relies on fundraising, concessions, advertising and donations to meet their annual budget. One of the bigger fundraisers Price Ice Recreation Arena has is the open skate nights. As benefactor of this year’s Golf Classic, they plan to purchase 100 pairs of figure skates and 100 pairs of hockey skates to be used for rentals by the communities of Park Falls, Glidden, Butternut, Phillips and surrounding areas.
*Raffle is sponsored by Price Ice Recreation Arena.
