2010 Board of Directors Election
In 2010, there are two positions up for election to the NCCU Board of Directors. The two seats that are up for election are currently held by Jerome Scherwinski, who is not seeking re-election and by Dorothy Hilgart, who is running for re-election. Biographies for the candidates are listed below.
Dorothy Hilgart
My name is Dorothy Hilgart. I am the mother of 4 children and the grandmother of 9 grandchildren. I have lived in Park Falls for 35 years and worked at Flambeau Hospital as a registered nurse for 33 years. I am currently retired. I volunteer for Flambeau Hospice and have been on the board of directors for Northwoods Community Credit Union for 3 years. I am the secretary for the board and I also chair the Volunteer Committee. Our goal is to improve financial literacy in our schools and in our community.
I also enjoy gardening, reading, quilting, spending time with friends. However I most enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and children.
Joe Wolf
I have been a member of NCCU for 2 1/2 years and have been on the NCCU Volunteer Committee since September 2009. My parents, Harlan & Ruth Wolf were born and raised in the Butternut/Park Falls area. I have 30 years of lending experience obtained in community banks, which included mortgage and commercial lending. I have also managed several branch banks.
My wife Dana is employed at Flambeau River Papers. We have one daughter Jessica, who is a physician in Duluth. I have been extensively involved in community events. I am currently on the Board of Directors for Flambeau Hospital. I am a member of the Phillips Lions, and the past president of the Phillips Chamber of Commerce. I feel that with my past financial experiences that I can contribute to the growth and prosperity of our credit union.
Mary Ann Schoch
I have been working for over 18 years as a Resident Relations Specialist for the senior apartment complex Hillside Village in Glidden. I have also been an EMT for the Glidden area ambulance service for over 30 years and have held the unit's Secretary position for the past 28 years. I have served in the past on the Glidden School Board for 9 years
and held an assortment of various offices in the American Legion Auxiliary and my local church. I have volunteered for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for the past several years.
My husband, Al and I have been credit union members for over 12 years. We have 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. I enjoy feeding and watching wild birds, traveling, stitching crafts and card playing.
